FolderSys® products are made from environmentally friendly plastics, free from harmful plasticizers (6P‑free).
FolderSys® products are recyclable. Recycling conserves resources, reduces waste, and helps protect the climate.
Plastics are long‑lasting. This means our products show almost no wear during everyday use in the office, home office, or leisure time, and they are significantly more durable than products made of cardboard or paper. Long‑lasting plastics help avoid unnecessary waste.
But isn’t paper or cardboard even more environmentally friendly?
When choosing alternatives made of paper or cardboard, it is important to consider their recycling capability. Products such as folders, binders, or document wallets are often coated with plastics to improve usability. However, this coating makes them non‑recyclable, and they should not be disposed in the paper recycling bin.
Is plastic not harmful to the environment and to people?
For plastics, it is crucial that they do not contain harmful plasticizers that could endanger our health or the environment. Plasticizers are substances that make plastics flexible, but they can migrate out of the material. That’s why our products are 6P‑free, meaning they are free from six phthalates considered particularly harmful. Our products are also REACH‑compliant, meaning they meet European chemical safety regulations. With these standards, we can offer you plastic products that are not only practical but also environmentally conscious.
Materials used in our product range
PP (Polypropylene)
The most commonly used material in our products is polypropylene (PP). PP is free from chemical plasticizers and is therefore neutral toward printing inks, documents, and delicate surfaces (archival‑safe/document‑safe). Polypropylene is organically based and can be recycled. When incinerated, PP breaks down into CO₂ and water and contains no harmful components.

At FolderSys®, responsible action is at the heart of everything we do – including the materials we choose. That is why we are gradually switching our products from conventional polypropylene to PP with up to 80% recycled content.

PE (Polyethylene)
Our PE films contain no plasticizers and no heavy metals. They are physiologically harmless and are very well suited for recycling. During the production of PE films, no unpleasant odors or wastewater are generated. Polyethylene (PE) contains the same organic basic substances as wood and plant fibers—namely carbon and hydrogen. Therefore, PE burns cleanly and residue‑free, producing only carbon dioxide and water, and is a welcome energy source in waste‑to‑energy plants. No toxic fumes, gases, or slag are produced. The consumption of raw materials and energy during production—as well as water usage, weight, and landfill space requirements—is lower for PE films than for comparable materials.
PVC (Polyvinyle Chlorid)
PVC is one of the most thoroughly researched plastics, especially with regard to long‑term studies and the plasticizers used. At FolderSys, we rely on REACH-compliant (EG Nr. 1907/2006) PVC compounds that are free from harmful plasticizers (6P‑free).
PVC-free Alternatives (EVA)
Our PVC‑free zipper bags are free of plasticizers and made from ethylene‑vinyl acetate (EVA). EVA is used, among other things, for food packaging and in the healthcare sector. It is non‑toxic, contains no plasticizers, is food‑safe, and is resistant to oils and fats. EVA does not become brittle and remains soft for a very long time. It can also be easily recycled.
This allows you to rely on FolderSys products while avoiding PVC entirely. Our PVC‑free zipper bags are an environmentally friendly, healthy, and safe alternative — ideal for eco‑conscious consumers looking for a substitute for PVC.
FolderGreen® - Our post-consumer-recycling products
Products made from PCR plastic (Post‑Consumer Recycled).The majority of household waste consists of plastic packaging. This material is partially recycled into PCR plastic. We have succeeded in manufacturing translucent document pockets from this PCR material that fully match the quality of our standard products. By using post‑consumer waste, no new raw materials are required; at the same time, overall waste volume is reduced, and CO₂ emissions during production are significantly lower.
We will continue to expand this product range.
Everything from a Single Source — from Film Production to Toolmaking, Processing, and Finishing Using modern extruders, we produce PP films in thicknesses ranging from 20 to 2000 microns, in any required color and with a wide variety of embossing patterns.
Film surfaces can be customized through offset printing, embossing, or screen printing. Die‑cutting and forming tools are designed and manufactured in‑house in our own toolmaking department, while further processing is carried out on modern welding systems using ultrasonic or heat‑contact methods.We offer a highly flexible production environment — from large‑scale series manufactured in interconnected workstations to small batches produced in stepped individual processes. This gives us a high degree of customization based on customer‑specific requirements.
Reliable 24‑Hour Delivery Service for Standard Products from Our Central Warehouse. We offer a dependable 24‑hour delivery service for all standard items stocked in our central warehouse. For customized products, we provide stockholding and call‑off services to ensure continuous availability.
More than 1,000 products are ready for immediate dispatch from our central warehouse in Wuppertal. Our delivery performance exceeds 99%.
FolderSys®-products can be ordered individually or in small packaging units and are equipped with a multi‑level EAN code. For small quantities, no surcharge is applied, thanks to our very low minimum free‑delivery threshold.
100 % Climate‑Neutral Shipping
We ship our products with GLS, the climate‑neutral parcel service provider. GLS offsets all CO₂ emissions — both parcel‑related emissions and those generated in depots, at the headquarters, or on business trips. The compensation takes place through a Forest Protection Plan in MADRE DE DIOS, Peru. In addition, GLS relies on 100% green electricity and its own sustainable energy production, and invests in the expansion of emission‑free technologies (e.g., electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, etc.) to actively avoid CO₂ emissions in the long term.
